Surgical Session
Upon completion of the surgical session of the curriculum, attendees will be able to:

  • Describe principles of minimally invasive spine treatment strategies
  • Discuss evidence-based medicine in spine treatment challenges
  • Summarize new technologies in spine care, including potential limitations
  • Explain how clinical classification of spondylolisthesis drives surgical decision making
  • Discuss management principles and treatment options for spine trauma
  • Discuss decision-making in cervical spine surgery
  • Explain complications and management of patient care in the use of new technologies
  • Discuss hands-on experience with emerging technology presented by experienced faculty
  • Describe new technologies and treatment options for deformity
  • Summarize current issues surrounding treatment for degenerative disc disease

Non-Surgical Session
Upon completion of the non-surgical sessions of the curriculum, attendees will be able to:

  • Discuss new technologies in spine care, including potential limitations
  • Summarize principles of assessment and physical exam for spine
  • Review potential complications from the use of new technologies in spine care
  • Discuss diagnosis, psychosocial evaluation and novel treatments for degenerative disc disease
  • Summarize interventions for pain during pregnancy
  • Discuss interpreting recently published guidelines for evaluation and management of low back pain
  • Explain current options for injections
  • Review updates regarding pain assessment, imaging and medications
  • Discuss current topics in discography
