Surgical Session
Upon completion of the surgical session of the curriculum, attendees will be able to:
- Describe principles of minimally invasive spine treatment strategies
- Discuss evidence-based medicine in spine treatment challenges
- Summarize new technologies in spine care, including potential limitations
- Explain how clinical classification of spondylolisthesis drives surgical decision making
- Discuss management principles and treatment options for spine trauma
- Discuss decision-making in cervical spine surgery
- Explain complications and management of patient care in the use of new technologies
- Discuss hands-on experience with emerging technology presented by experienced faculty
- Describe new technologies and treatment options for deformity
- Summarize current issues surrounding treatment for degenerative disc disease
Non-Surgical Session
Upon completion of the non-surgical sessions of the curriculum, attendees will be able to:
- Discuss new technologies in spine care, including potential limitations
- Summarize principles of assessment and physical exam for spine
- Review potential complications from the use of new technologies in spine care
- Discuss diagnosis, psychosocial evaluation and novel treatments for degenerative disc disease
- Summarize interventions for pain during pregnancy
- Discuss interpreting recently published guidelines for evaluation and management of low back pain
- Explain current options for injections
- Review updates regarding pain assessment, imaging and medications
- Discuss current topics in discography
